AshCam has arrived! It's here, and first impressions are good. The various mounts look sturdy, the camera itself looks rugged. Good thing too.
Since I ordered it, I've read quite a few reviews, and the main criticism seems to be the narrow field and poor sound quality. I'm not bothered about the sound, and I'll see what I can do about making it slightly wider-angle.
It's worth mentioning the V.I.O Pov.1. Looks like it's the market-leader for waterproof helmet cams, but then at $700 I should hope so.
I've only had time for a quick play with AshCam, and while the video quality is more than good enough for me, I'm aware that the field of view is really narrow, so all the videos look like they've been zoomed in too far, and I imagine will be kinda shaky. That said, it's a helmet-mountable waterproof video camera that cost under £80, so let's play!
